Cape Tormentine was famous as the New Brunswick side of the ferry to Borden, Prince Edward Island. In the summer of 1997 the ferries stopped running, coinciding with the opening of the Confederation Bridge. Visitors can enjoy the sandy beaches, Rails-to-Trails for hiking opportunities and swim in the Northumberland Strait.
