The small town of Bowmanville was at one time a mill town and now is home to a natural harbor, a horticultural center and Mosport Park.
Bowmanville Museum
The Bowmanville Museum features displays of Victorian costume and a doll collection. Located in mid 19th C Italianate styled house, the home also displays period furnishings.

Bowmanville Zoological Park
The Bowmanville Zoo was opened in 1919 making it the oldest zoo in Canada. The zoo covers 45 acres and features a wide variety of animals. Camel and elephant rides are available.

Darlington Nuclear Generating Station
The Darlington Nuclear Generating Station in Bowmanville provides approximately 20 percent of Ontario's power. Interactive displays, literature and an orientation videotape are offered at the Information Center.

The Waterfront Trail is also open to visitors.
