Yuba City Attractions

Yuba City was founded when Samuel Brannan, Pierson Reading, and Henry Cheever purchased land from John Sutter in 1849. They established a distribution center for supplying the Gold Rush 49ers. Sam Brannan was instrumental if having the town laid out and arranged for agents to sell lots.

After the Gold Rush was over people turned to the fertile land west of the river, and then Yuba City began to prosper.
Community Memorial Museum
The Community Memorial Museum was established in 1975 as an historic museum. There are displays of local history including Native American and agricultural artifacts.
