Woodland is located 15mi/24km northwest of Sacramento. This Gold Rush town established in 1861 was first known as Yolo City. Known as the "City of Trees", Woodland has many cultural, recreational and leisure opportunities.
The Hays Antique Truck Museum in Woodland features 100 trucks from over 94 manufacturers built between 1903 and 1954; and vehicles powered by steam, gas diesel and electricity.

The Yolo County Historical Museum houses a collection of furnishings and artifacts depicting the various eras from the 1850's to the 1930's. The outbuildings contain displays of agriculture and everyday life of the same period.
