Weed was established near the end of the 19th century. It is a scenic mountain town. Weed is surrounded by national forests, high desert plains and volcanic formations of geological interest.
The Living Memorial Sculpture Garden serves as a memorial to American veterans of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Metal sculptures are grouped into nine theme areas across 32 acres.
The Weed Historic Lumber Town Museum features historic displays about the town and the lumber industry. Exhibits include lanterns, antique saws, a logging engine, antique cameras, oil lamps, and an old stagecoach. There are three rooms featured including a kitchen, sewing room, and bedroom from the 1900s.
