Taylorsville is located in Plumas County near the Plumas National Forest. Job T. Taylor first settled the town in 1852.
Indian Valley Museum
The Indian Valley Museum has historic and American Indian artifacts from the 1850s to present day in two display rooms. One room is dedicated to the native Maidu Indian culture, featuring a fine collection of Maidu baskets. Mining displays help relate the traditions of mining, ranching and logging in the area.

Plumas National Forest
The Plumas National Forest was established by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1905. Plumas covers more than one million acres with hiking, fishing, hunting, camping and water activities. It is located between the Sierra Nevada and the Cascade Mountain Ranges.
