Adobe de Palomares
Adobe de Palomares was built between 1850 to 1854, the 13 room home of Don Ygnacio Palomares and his wife, Dona Concepcion Lopez de Palomares. This Mexican style adobe has been restored to its original appearance except for the section which housed the kitchen, dining room and storeroom.
The rooms and garden of Adobe de Palomares allow visitors to glimpse life over 150 years ago. The furnishings are from the period when the home was built - heirlooms belonging to descendants of the early families.

La Casa Primera
La Casa Primera was completed in 1837 by Don Ygnacio Palomares after receiving a grant of 15,000 acres of vacant land from the Mexican Governor. The home was built with thick walls of adobe brick.
In 1867, the son of Ygnacio, Don Francisco Palomares, and his wife moved in to La Casa Primera. Francisco was found the first artesian well in the valley and planted orange trees. In 1973 the home was purchased by the Historical Society and restored. Today, many of the rooms have been filled with authentic 19th Century furnishings.
