Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve

The Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve is an 805 acre park located in the Russian River Valley north of San Francisco.

The park features some of the tallest redwoods in the state with the Parson Jones Tree which is 310 feet tall and the 1,400 year old Colonel Armstrong Tree.

Don Clausen Fish Hatchery
The Don Clausen Fish Hatchery is located behind the Lake Sonoma Visitor Center at the entrance to the Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve. The hatchery is operated by the California Department of Fish and Game and was built to replace and enhance salmon and steelhead spawning grounds.

Lake Sonoma Visitor Center
The Lake Sonoma Visitor Center is located at the entrance to the Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve and is open to visitors year round. There are exhibits of the history of Dry Creek Valley and tours of the fish hatchery.
