The origins of the spa park, the Parque Dom Carlos I, also go back to Queen Leonor. Nowadays it has beautiful gardens, fine old trees, and a small lake in the center.

Ceramic Museum
The Ceramic Museum is housed in an attractive villa on the edge of the park. Exhibits include works by Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro (1847-1905), who ran a ceramic workshop in Caldas da Rainha for a while.

Museu de José Malhôa
The pavilion in the park houses the Museu de José Malhôa containing modern Portuguese sculpture and paintings, including works by Malhôa who was born in Caldas da Rainha in 1855.

Workshop Museum
In modern buildings opposite the Ceramic Museum are two further museums dedicated to famous sons of the town. They are the workshop museum of the portrait and decorative sculptor António Duarte, born here in 1912, and also that of sculptor Joao Fragoso (b. 1913).
