Nagytétény - Castle Museum Kastélymúzeum
The major point of interest in Nagytétény is the Baroque Castle, which now houses a branch of the Museum of Applied Arts. This great country house was built in the 18th C, making use of the remains of 15th C buildings. After suffering severe damage during the Second World War it was carefully restored a few years ago and opened as a museum.
Exhibits
Of interest are some finely constructed items of furniture from the 15th to the 19th C (predominantly of Hungarian and German origin) and a collection of stove tiles and stoves. In some of the rooms will be found valuable paintings, carpets, china and clocks from the 18th and 19th C. The castle stables contain some interesting Roman Age finds.
