(Local Name: Posta Múzeum) The Museum of the Hungarian Post Office (Posta Múzeum; No. 3) is housed in an unusual palace which was designed in 1886 by G. Czigler for the entrepreneur Saxlehner. The carefully renovated stairwell is embellished by some fine ceiling-paintings by K. Lotz. As well as interesting documents concerning the development of the Hungarian post-office system the postal history collection contains some original technical apparatus, including the telephone used by the Habsburg Emperor Franz Joseph I and a transmitter of 1919.
