Budapest - Botanical Garden of the University

(Local Name: Füvészkert) The Botanical Gardens of the University were laid out in 1847 and lie along the main arterial road known as Ülloi út. Originally quite extensive, the park has become more and more reduced in size as the built-up areas of Budapest continue to intrude. In the garden more than 7000 different species of plants can be found. The Neo-classical administration building dating from 1802 is also worthy of note.

In the vicinity of the Botanical Garden are some of the extensive buildings of the University Hospital.
