Brussels - Guild Houses

Grand' Place owes much of its character to its elegant gildehuizen, with their magnificent gables, pilasters and balustrades, their ornately carved stonework and rich gold decoration. Most were built between 1696 and 1700 in the style of the Italian Baroque but with some Flemish influences. As well as bearing the name of the guilds, all the houses have individual names.
