Museum Potterie Description
The Potteriespitaal, on the extreme northern edge of the city center near the Episcopal Seminary on the Potterierei, was founded in 1276, though most of the present buildings date from the 15th C. Today it is still in use as a pleasant home for the elderly. The interesting Baroque chapel of Onze Lieve Vrouw van de Potterie and the even more interesting Museum Potterie in the old building are open to visitors, the latter comprising various items of ecclesiastical art including furniture, Gobelins, gold and ivory work and paintings.
