Beef Island International Airport
Beef Island International Airport is the British Virgin Islands' major point of entry. The airport is unable to accommodate large jets, so overseas travellers arrive via smaller aircraft from San Juan, Puerto Rico or St Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Chikuzen Shipwreck
The wreck of the Japanese refrigeration ship, the Chikuzen, lies 6mi/10km off the coast of Beef Island at a depth of 75ft/23m. Since the ship sank in 1981, the 246ft/75m hull has attracted vibrant reef life and is one of the British Virgin Island's prime diving sites, perfect for underwater photography. Some fish that can be spotted are barracudas, horse-eye jacks, big rays and many more.
Lambert Bay Beach
Formerly known as Elizabeth Beach, Lambert Bay has been developed by the Lambert Bay Beach resort since the 1990's. Found at the bottom of a steep hill, Lambert Bay is lined with palms and good for swimming and water activities.
Tips
In winter there can be a dangerous undertow due to a northern Atlantic Ocean swell.

Long Bay Beach
Long Bay is an undeveloped beach good for swimming found at the northwest end of Beef Island. Generally, this beach tends to be frequented more by local islanders rather than visitors. The beach is sheltered and features a salt pond that attracts nesting terns and egrets.
Tips
Typically secluded except for Sundays when crowded with local families. Close proximity to the airport makes this beach somewhat noisy.
Queen Elizabeth II Bridge
Queen Elizabeth II dedicated this tiny, single lane bridge spanning the narrow channel separating Tortola from Beef Island during her visit to the territory in 1966.
