Bristol - Coggeshall Farm Museum
The land that the Coggeshall Farm Museum in Bristol stands on encompasses more than 7,000 acres. It is a 1790's coastal farm on 48 acres in Colt State Park. The farm had various owners throughout the years but was never owned by the Coggeshall family. The Coggeshalls were tenants and farmed the land for more than sixty years.
The farmhouse, now the farm museum is a living restoration project which attempts to recreate life in the late 1800's with animals, crops, utensils, tools, and domestic activities which were typical of life on a self-sufficient farm during that time period.
