The exhibition rooms in the interior of the Art Gallery are large and light. The main strength of the Art Gallery lies in its collection of European and Australian art of the 19th and 20th C.

A high point in the Queensland Museum (paleontology, anthropology, biology, zoology and applied technology) is the Avian Cirrus, the plane in which Bert Hinkler made the first solo flight from Britain to Australia in 1928.

The State Library of Queensland, which includes the John Oxley Library, a collection of over 60,000 books and half a million photographs on the history of Queensland, offers conducted tours every Tuesday morning.
