Stony Brook Grist Mill Description
Built in 1751 and still working today, Stony Brook Grist Mill uses the force of the adjacent stream to grind grains into flour and corn into cornmeal. It has not been in commercial operation since the late 1940's. The Stony Brook Museums opened the building to visitors in the late 1960's. Stony Brook Grist Mill was placed on the register of National Historic Places in 1990.
