Garibaldi

The little hill town of Garibaldi, 13km/8mi south of Bento Gonçalves is in an area settled by Italian immigrants in the 1870s. It is named after the Italian patriot Giuseppe Garibaldi, who lived in South America from 1834 to 1848.

Champanhe Festival

The National Champanhe Festival is held annually in July in Fenachamp Park, 2.5km/1.6mi from the town on RS 470.
Historical Museum
Historical Museum

The Historical Museum is housed in a building of 1884 once occupied by the Italian consulate. The collection includes tools and domestic equipment of the original immigrants and the simple mechanical apparatus formerly used in the making of champanhe.
Municipal Park
Municipal Park

In the Municipal Park visitors can take a cableway running up to a ski-lift and then shoot down a 400m/440yd long steel skiing piste or a 300m/330yd long concrete toboggan run. The park is 3km/2mi from Garibaldi on RS 470.
