It is worth visiting Braine-le-Château, 6.5km/4miles to the southeast, to see the tasteful castle built by the counts of Hoorn in the 17th and 18th C.
A pillory decorated with ironwork, erected in 1521, stands in the market square. The grand tomb (1542) of Maximilian Hoorns, Charles V's chamberlain, in the local church is by Jean Mone.
