Lough Key Forest Park 


To the northeast of town of Boyle is forest-fringed Lough Key Forest Park with an excellently equipped camping site, restaurant, children's paddling pool, picnic sites, etc. There are also facilities for boating, cruising, fishing and walking. There is an interesting bog park.
On an island in the lough can be seen the ruins of an old abbey, picturesquely mantled in green.
Southeast of Boyle, between Elphin and Strokestown, lies a lake district with no fewer than 65 little loughs which offer excellent coarse fishing.
