Rønne - Brogårdsten

9 km/5.5mi along the road to Hasle north of Rønne can be found the Brogårdsten, the most important runic stone on Bornholm. It was discovered in 1868 as a coping-stone on a bridge over the Bagå and set up at this spot. Dating from about 1100, the stone bears the following inscription: "Svenger had this stone erected for his father Toste and for his brother Alvlak and for his mother and sisters".
