Boca de Guama - Crocodile Farm

(Local Name: Criadero de Crocodilos) One of the main attractions at Boca de Guama is the Criadero de Crocodilos, a huge crocodile farm. Operated by a government ministry, the Criadero de Crocodilos is a breeding facility for the Rhombifier and the Acutus (caiman) species of crocodiles, and a sanctuary for sixteen species of endangered reptiles. As the largest crocodile farm in Cuba, the Criadero de Crocodilos has more than 100,000 residents, kept in a variety of pools. Visitors can observe them from a viewing platform that looks over the farm.

There is a pseudo crocodile farm inside the tourist complex in Boca de Guama, which can sometimes cause confusion with visitors looking for the Criadero de Crocodilos.
