Lüner See 
A beautiful road (6.5km/4mi) climbs from Brand via Innertal (chair lift up to Melkboden, 1,611m/5,286ft) and the Schattenlagant-Alpe to the lower station of the Lünerseebahn (1,565m/5,135ft). The upper station is at the Neue Douglass-Hütte (1,979m/6,493ft; inn in summer) on the Lüner See (1,970m/6,464ft). The lake, 1.5km/1mi long, stores water for the Illwerke (hydro- electric installations in the Ill valley). A scenic footpath encircles the lake (1.5 hours).

Schesaplana Summit
From the Lüner See it is a 3-3.5 hours' climb to the summit of the Schesaplana (2,697m/9,735ft), the highest peak in the Rätikon, with superb views. The summit can also be reached direct from Brand, but the climb, by way of the Oberzalimhütte (1,930m/6,332ft; inn in summer) and Mannheimer Hütte (2,700m/8,859ft; inn in summer) is rather strenuous (6 hours).
