Assembly & Concert Hall
On the southeast corner of Theaterplatz, at the end of the Kirchenfeld bridge, is Berne's (1906-09), an assembly and concert hall with a restaurant and large lookout terrace.

Hôtel de Musique
To the east of Berne's Bundesplatz in the Theaterplatz are the Hauptwache (Guard House), a small pillared hall of 1767, and the Hôtel de Musique (1771), once the fashionable assembly rooms of Berne.
Meat and dairy market
Münstergasse is Berne's market for meat and dairy produce on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, and every first Saturday in the month a craft market of handmade goods. It leads to the Münsterplatz, where stands the Moses Fountain (ca.1545). The so-called late Baroque Stiftsgebäude (Albrecht Stürler, 1748) is the seat of the Cantonal government.
Municipal and University Library
To the north is the horseshoe-shaped site of the Berne Municipal and University Library (Stadt- und Universitätsbibliothek), which was built in 1755 as the Corn Exchange but renovated in 1787-92 as the library by Sprüngli and Schmid.
