Switzerland - Youth Hostels

Switzerland has some 120 youth hostels (German: Jungendherberge, French: Auberge de Jeunesse, Italian: alloggio per giovani) providing modestly priced accommodation, particularly for young people (with priority for those under 25). During the main holiday season it is advisable to book in advance; the maximum period of stay permitted in any one hostel will vary according to the demand for places. Youth hostellers must produce a membership card issued by their national youth hostel association.
