Berne - Railroad station

(Local Name: Bahnhof) Berne's main railroad station, in Bahnhofplatz, below the Grosse Schanze, was completely rebuilt between 1957 and 1974, with the tracks running underground for a distance of 200 m/656ft (tourist information office, shopping, restaurants, cafe, parking, bus station). In the Christoffel underpass are remains of the fourth medieval defensive system (foundation of walls, round towers, remains of a bridge).
