Parishes of Hamilton and Smith's, Harrington Sound Area Attractions

Harrington Sound is Bermuda's inland saltwater lake. The tide flowing under Flatts Bridge replenishes the Sound with seawater and marine life.
Although this is largely a residential area there are a number of attractions. The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo, Blue Hole Park and the Crystal Caves of Bermuda can be visited along the North Shore Road.
On the south coastline Spittal Pond Nature Reserve and John Smith's Bay offer wildlife, beaches and ocean views.

Bermuda Perfumery

In 2005, The Bermuda Perfumery moved to historical Stewart Hall in the heart of St. George's UNESCO World Heritage Site. Since 1928, The Bermuda Perfumery has been creating and manufacturing fine ladies and gentlemen's perfumes inspired by the flowers of Bermuda under the brand Lili Bermuda. The Perfumery is passionate about the art of perfume making and continues to innovate by using both traditional and modern techniques to produce exceptional perfumes.

Bermuda Railway Museum and Curiosity Shop

This small museum in the Aquarium Station of Bermuda's now extinct railroad is stocked with photos, signs and wicker chairs from the first-class train compartment plus video of the train.

Devils's Hole Aquarium

Bermuda's first tourist attraction, Devil's Hole Aquarium is a deep water-filled cavern stocked with tropical fish and marine life that can be observed or tempted with baited but hookless lines. Carriage rides are available.

Spittal Pond Nature Reserve

Bird watching points, hiking trails and a large variety of wildlife are highlights of Bermuda's 60ac/24ha nature reserve. Spittal Pond is the location of the original Spanish Rock carved by a shipwrecked Portuguese sailor in 1543.

Verdmont Museum

Verdmont, unchanged since its completion in 1710, includes a collection of cedar furniture, an important collection of Bermuda portraits plus a nursery with an array of children's items. A doll house replica of Verdmont can be seen in the attic.

Bermuda Glassblowing Studio and Showroom (closed)

ATTRACTION IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
A glassblowing studio where visitors can watch glassblowers at work.

Blue Hole Park

This 12ac/5ha park has abundant wildlife and includes a small, natural pond and caves.

Crystal Caves of Bermuda

Cave formations and an underground lake can be seen 120ft/36m underground at Crystal Cave and Fantasy Cave.

Flatts Village, Bermuda

Flatts Village offers accommodations, restaurants, small shops and docking, plus panoramic views of both Flatt's Inlet and Harrington Sound.

Bermuda Aquarium Museum and Zoo

More than 100 species of native Bermuda fish are displayed in ocean and reef environments plus a small zoo is on-site.

Gibbet Island

Gibbet Island was one location used to carry out executions and is now a popular place to snorkel and dive.

John Smith's Bay Beach

This long flat beach features the pale pink sand for which Bermuda's South Shore is famous.

Shelly Bay Park

A gently sloping shallow beach and a playground makes Shelly Bay Park a good beach for families.

St John African Methodist Episcopal Church

Bermuda's first African Methodist Episcopal Church Built in the mid-19th C by freed Blacks remains a favourite place of worship.

Tom Moore's Jungle

Tom Moore's Jungle is an unspoiled woodland area. The poet Tom Moore is said to have spent many hours here writing poetry here under a calabash tree.
