The central area of Bermuda offers diverse attractions. The South Shore includes the island's most beautiful beaches. Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute
The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute probes the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle and the elusive Giant Squid and also exhibits a shell collection and artifacts from Bermuda's shipwrecks. Bermuda's ecosystem can be explored through interactive video and computer simulation.
Paget Marsh
A natural wetland, which includes a boardwalk and interpretive signs. The pond attracts many species of water birds, including the Great Blue Heron, Yellow Crowned Night Heron, Great Egret, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Solitary Sandpiper and the Belted Kingfisher.
Bermuda Botanical Gardens
This 36ac/14ha area contains palm, subtropical fruit and hibiscus gardens, and a garden for the blind that features scented plants plus greenhouses with orchids and bromeliads.
Gibbs Hill Lighthouse
The 117ft/35m high Gibbs Hill Lighthouse is the second oldest cast iron lighthouse in the world. Photographs and drawings are displayed on the way up the 185 very steep steps.
WindReach Recreational Village
A site for visitors with special needs, this fully accessible 9ac/3.6ha site features a multi-purpose activity centre, sensory trail, raised gardens, playground, petting zoo, and an equestrian center.
Admiralty House Park
This 16ac/6ha park has well-maintained walking paths, sea caves, an enclosed cove for swimming and picnic grounds.
Bermuda Arboretum
