Bermuda Cruises are a very popular activity for people along the Eastern seaboard of the United States. The thought of sunny skies, warm water, beautiful beaches, and lush golf courses draw thousands of visitors every year. Frequent departures from New York, New Jersey, Baltimore, Boston and Bayonne make for a quick, easy, and sometimes cheap getaway. Unlike typical cruises which tend to stop at multiple ports of call, Bermuda cruises leave the United States, sail to Bermuda's only port of call, and dock for multiple nights before returning.

Cruise options are varied with cheap 5 night cruise packages to luxury 7 and 9 day vacations. Many different cruise lines ply the waters around Bermuda which is blessed with a pleasant climate and a weather forecast that usually calls for fine weather. Bermuda's fortunate location in the Atlantic Ocean allows it to escape a majority of the hurricanes that tend to strike other locations, making it a popular destination even during the summer months.

The island itself is well suited and set up to accommodate cruise ship passengers. Passport and visa restrictions are not onerous for most nationalities, and the harbour at King's Wharf is an efficient operation. There are many attractions right around the harbour and finding your own way is easy as English is the main language in Bermuda. The island's two main towns are Hamilton and St George. Public transport to them, including buses and ferry, is available from the port.

Most Bermuda cruises run from April right through until mid November. The warm summer months constitute the high season when cruise specials are hard to find. For those hunting for a cruise deal, the shoulder months of April and November present the best options for cheap prices, even on upper end luxury cruise ships.

Activities for passengers abound in Bermuda. For those who love the sun and sand, the island has a large number of beaches, some of which are very scenic with rocky outcrops jutting into the water. Two of the top beaches are Elbow Beach and Horseshoe Beach. Fans of golf will not be disappointed. Some of the most spectacular courses in the world are in Bermuda. Built along towering sea cliffs you'll want to be especially careful to watch your shot lest it end up in the sea.

For those more interested in history, the island has lots of important sites. Bermuda's history is filled with tales of shipwrecks, pirates, and the old colonial days. The Bermuda Maritime Museum is also a good spot to check out. A cruise in a glass bottom boat will allow cruise passengers to see the varied aquatic life and a few shipwrecks. For nature lovers who prefer to stay on land there is the Heydon Trust. This 40 acre plot of land preserves wild Bermuda as it used to be.

Bermuda cruises allow lots of time to explore the island but passengers will also find there is much to amuse them right on-board the cruise ships. Equipped with pools and all kinds of entertainment options for young and old some may choose to spend most of their time enjoying the luxury of their vessel. Most cruises take a day or so to get to and from Bermuda.
