The fishing village and angling resort of Bermagui (pop. 1500) lies just off the Princes Highway. Scenically impressive are its backdrop of hills (Mount Dromedary) and its rugged coast. It was much publicized for its fishing by the American sportsman and novelist Zane Grey around 1930.
