Description
(Local Name: Operncafe) The Operncafé on the eastern side of the State Opera House in Berlin is a faithful reproduction of the old Princesses' Palace, a two-story Baroque building erected in 1733-37 (architect F. W. Dietrich) which was linked by an arched gateway with the Crown Princesses' Palace. The Princesses' Palace is so called because it was the residence until their marriage of the three daughters of Frederick William III.

The palace was destroyed during the Second World War and was rebuilt in 1961-63 (architect Richard Paulick) to accommodate the Operncafé (cafe concert and grill).
