Bendigo - Central Deborah Gold Mine

Experience underground mining of the past at Central Deborah Gold Mine in Bendigo. See how miners lived and operated in Australia from 1939 to 1954. Don a miner's hat and lamp, travel 20 stories beneath the ground and walk in the footsteps of miners who discovered 17 million dollars worth of gold.

A two and a half hour Underground Adventure Tour climbing ladders, working mine drills and searching the quartz pieces for gold is also available.

Then take a self-guided surface tour of the mine and discover a treasure trove of vintage machinery, including the 108-year-old winder, the only one of its type still operating in Australia. While on the surface try your hand at gold panning and climb to the top of the poppet head for a fantastic birds eye view of the Central Deborah Gold Mine and the surrounding city of Bendigo.
