Vallée de l'Ourthe

The Ourthe is a 130km/427mile long river in east Belgium. Its source is two streams in the Ardennes, the eastern Ourthe and the western Ourthe which unite near the village of Engreux. In a deeply cut winding valley the Ourthe flows in a northwest and later north direction through the plateau of the Ardennes and the districts of Famenne and Condroz, often called the pre- Ardennes region, and enters the Meuse near Liège. The breach valley of the Ourthe is one of the most charming and picturesque scenic regions of Belgium.
