The town of Beaufort contains the Beaufort Historic Site. Here visitors will find a variety of immaculately restored homes that can be toured for a fee. Costumed interpreters provide insight and entertaining stories of life in Beaufort during the 18th and 19th Centuries. Also part of the Beaufort Historic Site is the Burying Ground, a cemetery listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
