Battle Creek - Kimball House Museum

In 1886, Doctor Kimball and his wife Marion built this 14-room home. The Queen Anne-style house is distinguished by a central square tower flanked by turrets. The colored glass windows, walnut woodwork in the front hall and handlaid parquet floors offer touches of opulence. The museum offers a glimpse into daily family life during the Victorian era. The only major collection of artifacts and archival material relating to Sojourner Truth, ex-slave and abolitionist, who lived in Battle Creek from 1857 until her death in 1883 are on display here.
