Basel - St-Alban-Tor

A stroll east through Basle's old town brings you to the square St-Alban-Tor, with its lower part finished in bulging stone blocks. An old town gate, it dates from the 13th C. when it was part of the fortifications. It was altered in 1871 with the addition of the watch house on the side facing the Rhine, being completely restored in 1976.
