Barcelos - Campo da República
The life of the town revolves around the spacious Campo da República, one of the largest squares in Portugal. Visitors flock to its Thursday market, which is much bigger than those held on the rest of the week, and where the goods on sale range from fruit, vegetables and meat to handicrafts and carved furniture. Next to the square is the flower filled park of the Passeio dos Assentos.
