Nonthaburi - Wat Prasat

Wat Prasat, in the Ayutthaya style, is situated some distance from the left bank of the Klong Bang Yai (built around 1700). The impressive main temple has two colonnaded porticoes and is richly decorated with sculptures and wood carving. The frescos in the interior have bold brush strokes and are very vivid (typical characteristics of the first Bangkok period).

The ruins of two more temples will be encountered on the right bank and at Bang Kruai at Wat Chalo. Both date from the late Ayutthaya period.
