Baltimore - Peale Museum

East of the Charles Center lie the Battle Monument (1815) and the old City Hall (1875). The Peale Museum in the block behind (Holiday St.) was opened in 1814 as the Baltimore Museum and is thus the oldest museum in the United States. Today it displays paintings by the Peale family.
