The Kern County Museum is a facility of 58 historic or exhibit buildings which illustrate the 1865 to 1945 period of local history and culture. The museum includes the hands-on Lori Brock Children's Discovery Center which focuses on interactive learning experiences for children 12 and under. Formerly known as "Pioneer Village", the accredited museum offers displays throughout the buildings and grounds, in the Main Museum and in the Lori Brock Children's Discovery Center.
