Roman Fort Description
(Local Name: Römerkastell) The Saalburg (7km/4.5mi northwest of Bad Homburg) is a reconstruction of a fort on the Limes, the defensive zone on the Roman frontier, built between 1898 and 1907 on the foundations of a fort which stood on this site. The fort measures 221m/242yds by 147m/161yds. Finds from the site are displayed in the Saalburg Museum.
