Maybole - Culzean Castle and Country Park
The 568 acre/230ha. park at Culzean Castle was Scotland's first country park (1969) with the farmhouse, another creation of Robert Adam, serving as the reception and information center for visitors. The most striking features are the Fountain Court, the Walled Garden with some colorful flower beds and Sir Herbert Maxwell's Scottish Garden.
The grounds also include a deer park, a swan pond, orangery, woodlands, terraces, herbaceous borders, a fountain garden and a large walled garden.
