St Nectaire - Cornadore Caves
(Local Name: Grotte du Cornadore) The Cornadore Caves were developed by the Romans, who took advantage of the sulfur springs for medicinal purposes. The arsenic and lime was thought to cure kidney diseases. A thermal center and numerous baths were installed in the caves, two of which are still on display. The caves also include natural wonders, such as limestone formations, stalactites, stalagmites, pisolites and aragonite flowers.
