Winklern Attractions

At the point where the Möll valley changes direction and turns eastward lies the little market town of Winklern (946m/3,104ft; pop. 2,500), a summer and winter sports resort; note the fine Late Gothic parish church, the medieval watch tower (later used as a corn store) and the Baroque chapel on the Penzelberg (1,375m/4,512ft). At Winklern a road branches off, crosses the pass, and passing through the winter sports resort of Iselsberg reaches the Drau valley and Lienz.
