Description
The Verwall or Ferwall group is a range of mountains to the north of the Silvretta between the Klostertal, Stanzer Tal, Montafon and Paznautal. Consisting of several sub-groups separated by deeply slashed valleys, it is an area of boldly formed peaks flanked by small glaciers, steep rock walls and hollows embracing pretty little lakes (the Valschavielsee, the Versailsee, the Blankaseen). To the north the Arlberg pass provides a link with the Lechtal Alps and the world-famous skiing area on the Arlberg. There are good paths between the various mountain huts, but the higher peaks in the Verwall group call for experience and practice in rock climbing.
