Southern Burgenland Attractions
Southern Burgenland is a region of long ranges of hills enclosing broad valleys and sloping down towards the east to form extensive plains around Rechnitz and Eberau which continue into Hungary. In between stretch the vine-covered hills of Eisenberg and Burg. To the south runs the wide Raab valley, reaching towards Hungary, while the most southerly part of the province is occupied by wooded and steeply scarped hills, sharply marked off from the flatter territory in the adjoining regions of Hungary and Yugoslavia.
