Black Madonna of Lockenhaus
In Lockenburg the Baroque parish church (1669) is worth a visit; in the crypt is a likeness of the Black Madonna of Lockenhaus, said to have powers of healing.
Burg Lockenhaus
Above the little market town of Lockenburg (333m/1,093ft) the imposing Burg Lockenhaus (13th century) has a fine vaulted Knights' Hall; in the castle chapel are the remains of frescos from the time when it was built. Concerts are held in the banqueting hall. In July each year an international festival of chamber music is held in Lockenhaus.
