Ill Valley

At the old-world town of Feldkirch, where the road branches off to the little Principality of Liechtenstein, is the beginning of the Ill valley, which runs down from the Silvretta group. The Ill is the main river in southern Vorarlberg; its upper valley is known as Montafon and the stretch extending to Bludenz as the Walgau. At Meinigen the Ill enters the Rhine valley.
