Bad Kleinkirchheim Attractions
East of the Millstätter See is Bad Kleinkirchheim (1,100m/3,610ft; pop. 1,400), a popular spa with thermal springs and enclosed baths, as well as an 18-hole golf course. At the hot Katharinenquelle (spring) a visit is recommended to the pilgrimage church of St Katharina im Bade; built on a grotto, it boasts a vaulted ribbed roof and a beautiful winged altar.
The winter sports area around the little town is equipped with many cableways and lifts ascending to more than 2,000m/6,560ft. The Kaiserburg chairlift runs southward up to the Kaiserburg (1,905m/6,250ft), from where it is a 15-minute climb to the Wöllaner Nock (2,145m/7,048ft).

Skiing
This four-season sports and spa resort in Carinthia is the home of one of Austria's greatest skiers, Franz Klammer, who can still be seen on its 85 km of groomed slopes which are served by 32 lifts. This area offers more than just skiing which makes it ideal for couples where one skis and one doesn't. Cross country trails, winter walking routes, ice skating, paragliding and tobogganing are featured and after a workout you can sample the thermal baths at a spa. Being a year-round resort Bad Kleinkirchheim has a wide range of hotels, restaurants and nightlife.
St Oswald
In St Oswald (1,319m/4,328ft), north of Bad Kleinkirchheim, the Late Gothic parish church should be noted for its early 16th C. frescos and star ribbed vaulting. There is a chairlift from St Oswald northward to the Brunnachhöhe (1,910m/6,267ft).
World in the Village Festival
